Finnish students in Engim

Jenna e Saara are two Finnish students who are in Engim until the end of April for a work-placement funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. Our students took the opportunity to ask them a few questions and to bring them for a tour of our beautiful city.

Who are you both?
We are Jenna and Saara. We are both 18 years old but we’ll turning 19 on this year, me (Jenna) on June and Saara on November. We live in Finland, Pori. Both of us are still living with our parents and siblings.

What are you studying/learning
We are in a “business class” and we’re learning to be shop assistants. We both are going to qualify on 15th of May.

 Why are you here?
We are in Turin because of a work placement funded by Erasmus+ project to learn new things and finish our internship. Of course we want to learn about Italy and the culture and we both wanted to visit Italy.

 Tell us about Pori?
Pori is a city in Finland. The capital of Finland is Helsinki. In Pori live about 85.000 people and it’s the 10th largest city in Finland. Pori is known for many things but here are a few examples: Jazz-festival, Yyteri beach, ice-hockey team Ässät and Poris theater which is the first Finnish-language theater. And there are some historical things that Pori is known for: for example Pori has burnt down nine times since its establishment.

 Tell us about Finland
Finland is a state in Europe. Capital city of Finland is Helsinki and our president is Sauli Niinistand prime minister is Juha Sipilä. In Finland live about 5.5 millions people. The official languages in Finland are Finnish and Swedish. In Finland we use euros. The climate in Finland is very cold in winter and spring but in the summer, it’s warm but sometimes very rainy.

Tell us about Winnova
Winnova is a training company where we study. Winnova arranges vocational secondary education, supplementary and continuing education and other vocational adult education with companies.
